This is an out-and-back hike to the Fort Bowie National Historic Site. There are interpretive signs along the trail and a small Visitor Center at the Fort. There are restrooms at the Fort. Bring water and a snack. No guests on this hike.

From the Holiday Inn Express in Willcox, head west on North Circle I Rd toward Virginia Ave. Turn left on Virginia Ave. In .2 miles turn left on N. Fort Grant Road. In 1.3 miles turn right on AZ 186 E / N Haskell Ave (sign for I-10 Business). In .7 miles turn left on AZ 186 E / E Maley St. Follow AZ 186 for 23 miles to Apache Pass Road. Turn left and follow Apache Pass Rd for 8 miles to trailhead.
