Special Instructions:

This is an out-and-back hike along a forest service road in the area of the new copper mine. There is an interesting collection of rock formations and some of the preliminary mining activity. Bring water and a snack.

Directions:

Take Felix Rd north to AZ Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Take the right ramp onto Hwy 60 East toward Globe. Past Superior, go through the tunnel to Magma Mine Road, turn right. At 1.5 miles, turn left on Forest Service Rd #315. Go about ¾ of a mile. Park along the road. Parking is limited.
