Wasson Peak Loop (UI)

 

Special Instructions:

This is a loop hike to the summit of Wasson Peak beginning on the King Canyon Trail to Wasson Peak Trail then returning on the Hugh Norris Trail to the Sendero Trail to the King Canyon Trail at the Mam-A-Gah Picnic Area. There are great views from the top and an amazing number of saguaros. Parking for this hike requires a National Park Pass/Senior Pass, or pay fee at the Visitor’s Center. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.

Directions:

Take AZ 87 South to I-10 East (toward Tucson). Exit at Avra Valley Rd, Exit 242. At the exit stop sign, turn right on Avra Valley Rd to Sandario Rd. Turn left on Sandario Rd and drive 9 miles south on Sandario Rd to Kinney Rd to the King Trailhead on the left. Restrooms are across the road at the Desert Museum Visitor’s Center.
