Tonto National Monument (SP)
Special Instructions:
This is an out and back hike to the Upper Cliff Dwellings. We will have a Ranger as our guide which is the only way to access the Upper Cliff Dwellings. The entry fee for this hike is $7.00 per person, or a Senior Pass. The check-in time for our tour is 9:45 am. The trail has several steep rocky sections so bring your hiking poles. Also bring water and a snack. Note: This hike is limited to the first 12 hikers registered.
Directions:
Take Felix Rd north to Arizonal Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Take the right ramp onto Hwy 60 East toward Globe. Follow US 60 through Miami. Before reaching the town of Globe, turn left (north) on AZ 188. Follow AZ 188 for 26 miles. The monument is on the left. Total driving distance is 80 miles.
