Special Instructions:
This is a key exchange hike with good views of San Tan Park. We will split into 2 groups. You will drive your car to one of two trailheads. We will exchange keys along the trail. This hike requires a fee ($7/car) or a Maricopa County Parks Pass. Please divide the cost of the entry fee evenly among the carpool. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.
Directions:
North Trailhead: Take Hunt Hwy North to Empire (past San Tan Flat Restaurant). Turn left on Empire and drive 1¼ miles past stoplight. First street past stop light turn left on Wagon Wheel. Follow Wagon Wheel to the parking lot at the end of the road.
East Trailhead: Take Hunt Hwy North for 12 miles to N. Thompson Rd. Turn left and drive 2.1 miles to W. Phillips Rd. Turn right and follow to entrance of Park. GPS coordinates: 33.167889, -111.635905
