Special Instructions:

This is an out-and-back hike with a short loop. There are petroglyphs and a great view from the ridge. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack.

Directions:

Take Hunt Hwy south to Attaway, turn right. Turn right (west) on Hwy 287/87 to I-10 West toward Phoenix. Exit at Elliott Rd (#157) and turn left on Elliott. Drive 0.5 miles and turn right on S 48th St. Get into left-hand lane. Drive 1.1 miles and turn left on S. 48th St. (This turn is hard to see, it is just as you see a sharp curve sign for the right going to Baseline Road). Drive only 315 ft and turn left on E Pima Canyon Rd.  Entrance to South Mountain, the golf course is to the right. Note: There is a small parking lot at the trailhead, but there are plenty of spaces along the entry road.
