Special Instructions:

This is a loop hike on a combination of trails: Horton Creek Trail, Highline National Trail and Derrick Trail. The route follows Horton Creek and climbs along the Mogollon Rim. The fall colors should be spectacular. Since the trailhead is so close to Kohl’s Ranch, no gas contribution is required. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.

Directions:

From Kohl’s Ranch Lodge, cross AZ Hwy 260. Follow Tonto Creek Rd (forest service road 289) for 0.8 mile. Park in the picnic area. Trailhead is on the north side of the campground.
