Special Instructions:

This is a loop trail that starts on the Arizona Trail for a short distance and then turns left to head towards Potts Canyon. 4 miles from the trailhead, you will reach the canyon, which is a great stopping place for lunch. After exploring the canyon, continue on for 0.5 miles. Turn left for a short trek to some ruins. Retrace your steps to the trail and go about 250 feet to the intersection with the Arizona Trail, turn right, and continue 3.3 miles back to the trailhead. Bring water, a snack and lunch.

Directions:

Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd and turn right. Turn left (north) onto AZ 79. Take the right ramp onto Hwy 60 east towards Globe. Drive 10 miles until you see mile marker 222, then drive 0.7 miles past mile marker 222, and turn left (cross westbound Hwy 60) onto East Arboretum Rd/FS Rd 357. Turn left at the first intersection and go 0.3 miles to the intersection with E Hewett Station Rd. (unmarked) Turn right and go another 0.2 miles to the trailhead parking on the right.
