This is a key exchange hike cutting across the base of the Superstitions. There are great views of the Mountains. We will exchange keys in the middle. Half a mile of this hike is a rocky trail. This hike requires an entry fee ($7/car) or a State Park Pass for parking at Lost Dutchman State Park. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.
Directions:
BROADWAY ROAD TRAILHEAD: Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Turn left on Hwy 60 West toward Phoenix. Follow Hwy 60 to Mountain View Rd and turn right. Drive 1.7 miles. Turn right on Broadway and go 1 mile to small trailhead on left. There are no restrooms or entry fee at this trailhead. GPS Coordinates: 33.40782, -111.47697.
LOST DUTCHMAN STATE PARK TRAIL HEAD. Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Turn left on Hwy 60 West toward Phoenix. Follow Hwy 60 to Mountain View Rd and turn right. Turn right on SR 88. Turn into Lost Dutchman State Park and pay station. Then go to saguaro day use area parking lot.
