Special Instructions:

This is an out-and-back hike along the south side of Picacho Mountain. There are good views of Picacho Peak and the surrounding desert. Note: the climb gets difficult after the turnaround point for this hike. This hike requires an entry fee ($7/car) or a State Parks Pass. Please divide the cost evenly among the carpools. (Spring flowers). Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.

Directions:

From Coolidge, take AZ 87 South to I-10. Take I-10 east to exit 219. Turn right on Picacho Peak Road and follow the sign to Sunset Vista Trail. The trailhead is at the end of the road.
