Special Instructions:
This is a strenuous out-and-back hike up Siphon Draw to the Flat Iron, where there are stunning views of the surrounding area. There are interesting rock formations along the way. We will lunch on the top of the Flat Iron. Parking area for this hike has a fee. Parking fee payment may be by cash or credit card. Be prepared for either method. Parking fees charged will be split between all hikers in the vehicle. Please collect the entrance fee equally between carpool members. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.
Directions:
Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Turn left on Hwy 60 west toward Phoenix and go approx. 12 miles. Turn right on Mountain View Road, (just past Silly Mountain) and go approx. 4.5 miles to SR 88 (Apache trail). Turn right at SR 88, go approx. 1 mile. Turn right onto the road to Lost Dutchman State Park and park at Siphon Draw Trailhead.
