Mandatory orientation – required of all new members
The primary goal of our club is to provide hikes that are both enjoyable and safe for all our members. To help new members, regardless of the level of experience (beginner to advanced), we require all new members to attend orientation and go on a short hike. The orientation will help new hikers understand the equipment and clothing needed, and how to get started. It will introduce new members to our rules and procedures. Some of the topics include: how to sign up for a hike, how we set up carpools, and the role of the leader and the sweep. The class takes about an hour and is conducted at the union center.
