Martinez Mine (SP)
Special Instructions:
Hikers will travel round trip from the Union Center in enclosed jeeps driven by the Anthem 4 Wheelers Club. The jeeps will pass through scenic Box Canyon on the old stagecoach route to a drop off point for the hike. The hike is 1.5 miles each way to Martinez Mine, where the old buildings and equipment remain from the silver mine operation. Also, this is an excellent opportunity to view interesting rock formations found in the area. If not vaccinated be prepared to wear a mask. Bring your lunch, drink and your hiking poles. $10 per person will be collected the morning of the hike by the hike leader and donated to the Anthem 4 Wheelers Club. Plan to return to the Union Center by 2:00-2:30. Limit of 19 hikers may register for this hike.
