Arnett Canyon – Apache Tears (CI)
Special Instructions: This is a loop hike through Arnett Canyon with a short, steep climb. This hike is an excellent opportunity to collect a few Apache tears. Bring water and a snack. Forest Road 4 to the Arnett Canyon Trailhead is rough and steep, it should not be attempted during wet weather. A high clearance vehicle is preferable, but a Subaru Outback navigated it just fine. Directions: Drive Felix to Arizona Farms and turn right. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 79, turn left and drive 10 miles to US 60 east. Drive 13 miles and turn right on So. Panther Road. Drive .5 miles and turn right on Telegraph Canyon Road (at the Fire Station). Continue on Telegraph Canyon Road for 1.8 miles (your GPS may direct you to the now closed old Forest Road 4 after 1.4 miles, ignore it). Turn right at the Y onto Forest Road 4, cross a stream and cattle guard and drive an additional .5 mile to the trailhead.

Arnett Canyon – East End (CI)
Special Instructions: This is an out and back hike in Arnett Canyon with great views of the canyon. There is a slight chance of water in the creek bed. Bring water and a snack. (Fall color). Forest Road 4 to the Arnett Canyon Trailhead is rough and steep, it should not be attempted during wet weather. A high clearance vehicle is preferable, but a Subaru Outback navigated it just fine. Directions: Drive Felix to Arizona Farms and turn right. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 79, turn left and drive 10 miles to US 60 east. Drive 13 miles and turn right on So. Panther Road. Arnett Canyon – Picketpost Key Exchange (CI)
Special Instructions: This is a one-way hike through Arnett Canyon with great views of the canyon and Picketpost Mountain. Bring water and a snack. Directions: Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd., turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Take the right ramp onto Hwy 60 east toward Globe. To Picketpost Trailhead: Just past mile marker 221 turn right (south) on FR 231. There is a brown sign for Picketpost Trailhead. Follow the dirt road for approx 0.3 miles to T in road and turn left. Follow this road for 0.7 miles to the trailhead. Road conditions are good. GPS coordinates: 33.272654, -111.177004. To Arnett Creek Trailhead: Follow US 60 East to Panther Dr. (GPS may say S. Mary Dr.) Turn right and follow past the fire station. Turn right on Golf Course Rd (GPS may say Telegraph Rd). Go 1.2 miles to the end of pavement. Continue on dirt road and turn right on Forest Service Rd 4. Take the right hand fork and proceed a few hundred yards to park vehicles along the road near the berm. There is no formal trailhead. Road conditions fair, high clearance vehicle suggested. GPS coordinates: 33.26172, -111.12330.
Arnett Canyon – Telegraph Canyon (CI)
Special Instructions: This is an out-and-back hike in Arnett Canyon with a turn into Telegraph canyon. There is a possibility of water crossings. There are great views of Arnett Canyon and Picketpost Mountain. Bring water and a snack. Forest Road 4 to the Arnett Canyon Trailhead is rough and steep, it should not be attempted during wet weather. A high clearance vehicle is preferable, but a Subaru Outback navigated it just fine. Directions: Drive Felix to Arizona Farms and turn right. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 79, turn left and drive 10 miles to US 60 east. Drive 13 miles and turn right on So. Panther Road. Arnett Canyon Trail (CI)
Special Instructions: This is a loop hike leaving from the Picketpost Trailhead and returning on Arnett Canyon Trail. Great views of Picketpost and the surrounding canyon. Bring water and a snack. Directions: Take Felix Rd. north to Arizona Farm Rd. Turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Take the right ramp onto Hwy 60 East toward Globe. Just beyond mile marker 221, turn right onto Forest Service Rd 231. There is a sign for Picketpost Trailhead. Go 0.3 mile to T in road and turn left. Follow 0.7 miles to the trailhead.
Aspen Nature Loop via AZT (CI)
Special Instructions: This hike follows the AZT from Snow Bowl Rd to Aspen Nature Loop. The trail crosses a mountain meadow and pine and aspen groves. There are beautiful mountain views along the way. This hike is at 8900 ft, so you may need an extra layer of warmth. Bring water and a snack. Directions: We will meet at the east parking lot of the Hampton/Fairfield Inns (coordinates are for the parking lot) at 990 and 1000 N. Country Club Drive, Flagstaff at 9:00 am. Your hike leader will provide detailed directions to the trailhead which is located off Hwy 180 on Snow Bowl Rd.
AZT – Florence Kelvin Rd South (CI)
Special Instructions: The trail meanders along rolling hills with views of the Big Hill and surrounding mountains. Bring water and a snack. (Spring flowers) Directions: Take Felix to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) onto AZ 79, drive 9.7 miles, to Hwy 60 East. Travel east on Hwy 60 for 14.6 miles exit 227, turn south on AZ-177. Travel south on AZ-177 15.6 miles. Turn right onto E Florence-Kelvin Hwy. Road sign says Kelvin Riverside. In 2.5 miles, the parking area will be on the left.
