Special Instructions:

This is a loop hike through Arnett Canyon with a short, steep climb. This hike is an excellent opportunity to collect a few Apache tears. Bring water and a snack.

Forest Road 4 to the Arnett Canyon Trailhead is rough and steep, it should not be attempted during wet weather.  A high clearance vehicle is preferable, but a Subaru Outback navigated it just fine.

Directions:

Drive Felix to Arizona Farms and turn right.  Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 79, turn left and drive 10 miles to US 60 east.  Drive 13 miles and turn right on So. Panther Road.  Drive .5 miles and turn right on Telegraph Canyon Road (at the Fire Station).  Continue on Telegraph Canyon Road for 1.8 miles (your GPS may direct you to the now closed old Forest Road 4 after 1.4 miles, ignore it).  Turn right at the Y onto Forest Road 4, cross a stream and cattle guard and drive an additional .5 mile to the trailhead.
