Special Instructions:
This is a scenic hike that incorporates a number of trails to create a loop hike in the Tortolita Mountains near Marana, AZ. The hike will take you past the remnants of an old ranch house site. Bring plenty of water, and food for a snack and lunch.
Directions:
Take Merrill Ranch Parkway to Hunt Highway. Turn left, go to Attaway Road. Turn right on Attaway and go to Highway 287. Turn right on Highway 287, at the light by the Casa Grande ruins turn left onto Highway 87, go approx. 20 miles. Merge on to I-10 east, go 30 miles and exit on Tangerine Blvd, go left for 5 miles. Turn left on Dove Mtn Road, go 4.5 miles at roundabout take first exit on to Secret Springs Dr. Proceed to Wild Burro trailhead parking lot on your right. You will pass thru the Ritz Carlton attendant house; tell them you are going to the trailhead. (suggest leaving earlier than normal due to the length of the drive and hike or expect to return to community center later than normal)
