Special Instructions:

Starting at the entrance to the First Water horse trailer parking lot, walk .16 mile further on the main road to an unmarked road on the left. Go around the gate and down the hill to the ramada/water tank/windmill.  Turn right immediately after the second fence (the fences are very close together) just beyond the windmill.  The trail curves to the right.  At .62 cross the wide creek bed.  At .66 turn right on an unmarked trail paralleling the creek.  At 1.33 turn right on Second Water.  Turn right at the intersection of Second Water & Dutchman.   Arrive at the First Water trailhead @ 1.82 miles.  Cross the parking lot and follow the dirt trail paralleling the road back to the horse parking lot.  Total: 2.34 miles  

 

Directions:

Take Felix Rd north to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79. Turn left onto Hwy 60 West toward Phoenix.   Exit onto Mountain View Rd (just past Silly Mountain) and turn right. Turn right on Apache Trail and drive approx. 2 miles to First Water turnoff.  Drive 2.1 miles to the horse trailer parking lot
