Special Instructions:

This hike will especially appeal to those who hiked into White Canyon from the northeast. This hike starts in the White Canyon valley, and travels up out of the valley. If you look at the info on Hike Arizona, some of the distance information is not correct as Hike Arizona information currently suggests the total distance to be almost 15 miles. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.

Directions:

From the junction of Hwy 79 and US 60, take US 60 East towards Globe. Take the AZ 177 exit at Superior. Turn right onto AZ 177 and follow for 9.6 miles. Turn right on Battle Axe Rd (considered a primitive road) and go for 2.3 miles. Turn right onto a less traveled road which heads generally northwest for 0.7 miles, then swings to the southwest and goes about 0.8 miles to reach the parking spot.
