Special Instructions:
This hike includes a Salt River crossing each way that will require water shoes and socks in addition to hiking shoes. Old running shoes will work fine for this. The trailhead parking is a free, unmarked space along the highway, best found using the GPS coordinates. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.
Directions:
Turn right onto W Merrill Ranch Pkwy. Turn right on Hunt Hwy which becomes Ellsworth. Take ramp left for AZ 24 West. Take ramp right and follow signs for AZ-202-Loop North. Keep straight onto AZ-202 N Loop. At exit 27, take ramp right and follow signs for University Dr. Turn right onto E University Dr. Turn left onto N Ellsworth Rd. Turn right onto N Bush Hwy. Arrive at unmarked trailhead on the left.
