Special Instructions:

This in-and-out hike is a great opportunity to see and explore Wood Canyon and its interesting rock formations. This area is scheduled to be developed by the Forest Service into a new set of hiking trails. Bring hiking poles. The last driving mile is very rough and requires 4-wheel trucks only. Bring plenty of water and food for a snack and lunch.

Directions:

Take Felix Rd to Arizona Farms Rd, turn right. Turn left (north) on AZ 79, drive 9.7 miles to Hwy 60 East. Travel east on Hwy 60 for 14.6 miles to exit 227, turn south on AZ 177. In 2.6 miles turn right on E Arnett Rd. Go 0.6 mile and turn left (south). Go 1.1 miles and park. Hike on Wood Canyon Rd to a gate at 1.8 miles, then at 2.3 miles turn off the road to the left. Follow the trail into the Canyon.
