Special Instructions:
This hike contains quite a bit of off trail hiking, and although most areas are open, there are some places where scratchy plants would be a problem for hikers not wearing long pants. Gloves could be handy in these places. This hike is a variation of the Hike Arizona description above.
Directions:
North on Hunt Hwy 8.4 miles. Turn right on E Bella Vista Rd. Turn left on N Gantzel Rd and continue onto Ironwood Rd for 9 miles. Turn right on W Baseline Ave. Turn left on S Idaho Rd for 2.8 miles. Slight right on AZ 88 E/N Apache Trail for about 20 miles. Turn left on Forest Service Rd 80 to Horse Mesa Dam.
