SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
This is an out and back hike with a loop in the Sweetwater Preserve along the foothills of the Tucson mountains. There is a dense population of mature saguaros along the trail as well as a crested saguaro. Bring water and a snack.

  • From Coolidge, take AZ 87 South to I-10 East
  • Follow I-10 East for 41 miles to exit 252, Camino Del Cerro Rd.
  • Turn right on Camino Del Cerro Rd.
  • In 2.6 miles turn left on N. Tortolita Rd.
  • Follow for 1 mile to the parking lot.
  • Total distance from the Union Center to the trailhead is 74 miles.
