DESCRIPTION:Queen Mine Tour \nMartha Scott has arranged for an exclusive tour of the Queen Mine in Bisbee for Hiking Club members and up to one guest\, on Tuesday\, March 21.  Join with fellow hikers and travel by rail car 1500 feet into Queen Mine outfitted in a hard hat\, headlamp and yellow slicker. Learn about the mining days from a retired Phelps Dodge Corporation (last mine operator) employee. \nWe need a minimum of 10 people for this private tour.  If we do not get the minimum number required\, then those who signed up and pre-paid will be reimbursed. Registration will open on Thursday\, February 9th at 7:00 am. We must notify the tour operator of our total headcount in advance\, so registrations will have to close on February 28th at 12:00 pm. \nIf you pre-paid and later need to cancel\, you will not be reimbursed by the club. However\, if you do need to cancel\, we can refer you to the people at the top of the waiting list (if there is one) to take your place. We give you their contact information. Once they have agreed to take your place. We will sign them up in your place and you will need to arrange reimbursement with them separately. To let us know you need to cancel\, please contact Martha Scott at the email address provided below. \nThe tour operators require that you wear closed toe shoes. Also\, no backpacks are allowed. \nQueen Mine Tour \nTuesday\, March 21 \n*Check in time -1:30pm (no exceptions) \nTour 2:00-3:00 pm \nTour is limited to 40 people \n$13.80 per person. He will meet you out front of the historic Copper Queen Hotel located at 11 Howell Street at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. We should warn you that these are not like those stairs that led to grandma’s porch. They are steep\, uneven\, narrow and plentiful.
